I’m all for plus size dresses that fit great, are made well and have an element of sexiness within them. When I saw this Kiyonna dress on Gwynnie Bee’s website I was immediately drawn to it, and knew I had to closet it. As a first reviewer for GB, I’ve tried this same dress on a few months ago in blue, but this green color was just too good to pass up. I’ve seen it on multiple other body shapes and skin colors and have yet to find someone that doesn’t look good in this dress. If you don’t know about Gwynnie Bee, I have a whole post talking about them. Check it out. If you’re interested in trying out Gwynnie Bee, be sure to sign up for your FREE 30 trial. Kiyonna is on of my favorite plus size brands that does evening wear very well. I love that many of their dresses are available through Gwynnie Bee, I fell head over heels for their Firefox dress. It has a very vixen vibe to it when it’s on. It’s one of those dresses that won’t wow you on the hanger, but when you put it on, you will light up. I am wearing a size 2 which is an 18/20 for them. With their dresses, I always go with my actual size because the fit of their dresses is really well done.
The hunter green is such a beautiful color for the winter time. I love deep colors, but sometimes I’m tired of wearing the same deep reds and deep purples or black. So a nice deep green like this just speaks to my soul. I wanted to keep my accessories simple because I wanted the dress to be the statement. I paired it with my favorite nude pumps; they are Ivanka Trump (as much as it pains me to say her last name, these shoes are really amazing and comfortable). My necklace, I’ve had for a couple of years now, I honestly don’t remember where it’s from, but I wanted something that could be a statement piece, but not overpower the dress. I felt the need to wear a necklace because I didn’t want just a bare chest.
I am wearing shapewear underneath the dress. I 100% believe in wearing shapewear with dresses that cling to my body. If it’s not your thing, that’s cool too. I happen to have on my Squeem. I have tons of other options for shapewear, but I went with Squeem because it actually lifts my bust line to actually fill out the top of the dress. You all know I’m not very busty so anything that helps lift the girls, I’m down for.
