WNBA Draft 2019

WNBA Draft 2019

Hey Loves,

April 10th, 2019 was a night that changed the lives of 36 young women and I had the chance to see it happen live. I attended the 2019 WNBA Draft sponsored by Statefarm and hosted at the Nike Headquarters in NYC. Heading into their 23rd season the WNBA these hard working young women represent the best of the best from around the country and world.

12 year old me was beyond excited because at one point in time I wanted to play in the WNBA. Like every little girl at the time, Lisa Leslie was the pinnacle of women’s basketball. So be in the midst of watching these young have the opportunity to live out their passion was just amazing.

The event was held at the 150,000 square ft. Nike Headquarters complete with an orange carpet, live broadcast from the 4,000-square-foot indoor basketball court, three intense rounds of draft picks, interview circuit, and Instagrammable moments at the “dreamboard” where friends, family, and newly drafted WNBA players shared their dreams, hopes and ambitions.
