Maybelline Superstay| My Go-to Foundation

Let’s talk foundations, shall we? We all know after prepping your skin, the 1st thing many of will reach for is a foundation. For me, there are very few foundations on the market that I felt the need to replace multiple times. The Maybelline Superstay Foundation has been that for me more than once.

I’ve been using this foundation for close to 2 years now and it is my absolute favorite drugstore foundation. I wear shade 355 coconut; I find that this shade works well for me both summer & winter. Even taking into account that I’m darker in the summer than winter. Find my correct shade took some trial and error because you cannot test shades for drug store brands unlike if you go to Sephora.

But, thank God for YouTube, I watch a lot of black YouTubers, especially women who have similar skin tones to me, to see what shades they are wearing.

I fell in love with the Maybelline Superstay Foundation when I felt how lightweight it was, the buildable coverage and the beautiful finish it gave my skin. But what really solidified this foundation for me was when I travel to Ghana in March of 2018. I did not pack any other foundation for that trip and it held beautifully in the intense African heat. It didn’t not separate, and I had absolutely not transfer on my hands on my clothing.

I have spent a decent amount of money on higher-end (not luxury) foundations and never been truly attached to any of them. However, price point aside, the Maybelline Superstay has remained my go-to and do not see that changing any time soon.
