As much as I love fall, I just can’t seem to let go of the summer. As I was was getting dressed this morning, I looked through my closet to see what I had. I came across this wrap dress that I got from a thrift store a couple months ago. I’ve worn it before, but haven’t posted about it. And I thought what the hell, it’s comfortable and I have a rather long day ahead of me.
I typically hate to follow “plus size fashion rules” but this one, wrap dresses are super flattering, I definitely stick to from time to time. You can never go wrong with wrap dresses. There are so many ways to wear them, and are definitely transitional pieces that every girl should own.
I found the dress while browsing at a thrift store I frequent. I was really looking for anything in particular but then this caught my eye. And I knew it had to be mine.
Freshly twisted hair. I paired the outfit with my favorite vintage earrings and Eddy & Bri necklace. Something super simple
There you have it loves. Happy Fashion Week to my loves that are out & about for NYFW. Until next time loves.
If you saw the last post, I wrote about the awesome store opening Shirley & Alice, it wouldn’t be complete if I didn’t do an outfit post. I must say I am in total love with this outfit. I was finally able to wear these great pants I got from the thrift store. Since I was heading to a vintage store opening, it was only right that I pull out something vintage. But I knew I didn’t want to wear a skirt. I really wanted to wear pants.
When I 1st bought these pants, I knew exactly what I want to wear with them. And when I found this top from H&M, I knew it had to be mine. It is a cardigan that i turned backwards…just trying to be creative! And my shoes…I got the on sale from Macy’s when I 1st saw them, I actually was kinda eh whatever. But then I put them on, and it was all she wrote lol
Pants: Thrift Store
Shoes: Style & Co. frm Macys
Ok I have to say that I am so in love with this red lipstick. .99 from CVS. I’m always skeptical about red lippy colors. I was have the hardest time finding one that worked for me. But when I put this on, honey child I couldn’t stop looking at myself in the mirror lol
All in all I loved this outfit and it was a great success! What do you think?
Until next time loves.
I think one of the best things about being a blogger is finding cute places to shop, whether it be online or actual stores. And Being that I’m living that college grad lifestyle, a decent price for clothes is a must. So I am quite excited to talk about a new online called Smoke & Glamour. What I adore about S&G, is that she uses real models to show off the clothes. So that we can have an idea as to what to expect with certain items. Call me anal but things like that really important to me.
But S&G is all about providing fashionable affordable clothing for us plus size/curvy/thick women. So that we can always have cute options and not feel like we are breaking the bank.
Smoke & Glamour Boutique was created for ladies of all sizes and ages who love to flaunt their curves. The chick that walks into the room and let her style speak before she does. Every piece featured in the boutique is handpick by a self-proclamied “Fun-sized FLY girl” ensuring that the styles are unique. Loving anything that stands out, studded, sheer, sparkly and just plain fly. We aim to make high quality, trendy clothing affordable for everyone! We appreciate each & every customer
So in true Shainna fashion I went through the site and made my little wish list. Let’s check it out shall we!
So the print dress is definitely calling my name. Who says plus size women cant rock heavy prints!?
Leggings are like my second skin. And the trend has really gone in new directions. I mean I’m really swooning for the see through. And I love the spikes wrapped around leg…
Contrast tops are always a way to go. They could be dressed up or dressed down. Super chic and so on trend.
Smoke and Glamour ships both domestic and international. You don’t have to have a paypal account but if you do then great. Smoke & Glamour is still in its beginning stages but I’m all about supporting small businesses. So be sure to check out the site and let me know what you think. Until next time loves.
One thing we as bloggers go through is that change in weather, but not wanting to have to buy all new clothes. So as our lovely summer days fade to cool fall, and now chilly winter nights I still have the urge to wear my adorable summer dresses. So that begs the question, what does one do? For the last week and some change, I made a point to wear my favorite summer pieces adding a pair of boots and some stockings and ya girl was ready to go.
This little black dress made me feel so sexy. And I had to rock it with pops of color to break of the black. And to bring my girl into fall I DIY’d so holes in my stockings, my lovely denim jacket from Forever 21 and my thrifted black rider boots. You couldn’t tell me I was hot in this cold weather.
Over the summer Target was my place to shop, I was going HAM. The top, which is actually a simple body-con dress worked perfectly with this high/low skirt that i couldn’t get enough of. so to move it from my summer heels, I tossed on my opaque tights (from target) my fave leopard print wedges from Just fab and I was ready to brave this rather chilly NJ weather.
When I say this dress at Old Navy, I just knew that it had to be mine. And ever since I got it, it has been nothing but a head turn for me! To stay cool in the heat I paired it with my leopard print sandal wedges they just made my legs look sooooo choice lol To keep it warm for the fall/winter tights and knee high boots…POW!! lol
So my loves how did you transition from summer to fall/winter? Until next time love.
Last night was just a great time. I had the awesome pleasure of attending Mynt 1792 and Plus Model Magazine’s event at the Ainsworth. It was a night to reveal and celebrate the fashions of Mynt 1792. And to be honest my pockets will be hurting this fall lol Their jeans, their jackets are just to die for.
It was fabulous night with great food, free drinks and fantastic women. I had to not be star struck when I first got there cause I saw the faces of ladies that I truly look up to. The atmosphere was intimate, crowded (of course) fashion filled.
But on to Mynt 1792…is plus size line aimed at dressing the whole woman. They will offer pieces that we can wear from day to night. Great options in jeans that truly fit our curves. And not just your typical blue jeans. They’ll be offering metallics, skinny jeans, colored jeans and more. The full line will offer jackets and let me tell you the jackets I saw, just tickle my fancy on so many levels lol Great quality, a fantastic cut & fit.
Be on the look out for the force that is Mynt 1792
Some of their Jackets
How awesome are those jeans and that vest. Oh those jeans come in a cobalt blue w/ a black stripe!
Kaela Humphries in one of Mynt Fantastic Jackets
This fur vest…to die for!
Check the next post for my outfit from the night!
I had the awesome pleasure of attending the Kuning spring 2013 presentation held at the Empire Hotel. I truly enjoyed what Kuning had to offer. The pieces were simple, yet extremely sophisticated. In keeping with the motif of simplicity, the backdrop was meant to place you in a rather fancy garden; with cute little cupcakes and drinks in tea cups.
I can really appreciate the mix of fun and flirtatious with with planned structure.
Love the chiffon detail and the subtle detail in the fabric
This skirt is everything!
A splash of color, never fails.
Enjoying the contrast tops.
Make up artist are always hard at work.
I was very refreshing to be able to walk around and be interactive with the models and the scenery. To be up close and personal with the designs as wells the designers. The models were kept very clean, with just a touch of make up. No bright colored nail polish, simple side ponytails. Subtlety done well.
So until next time ladies!
So I have been meaning to do a post about this dress I got from H&M like a month ago. I’m so in love with this dress. I had to get it cause it’s a hi/lo dress, but how can I forget the absolutely fabulous color! for the #win. H&M is growing on my list of places to always go to. Don’t be afraid to try things on in H&M. A lot of their dresses have great stretch that can fit our curves. This dress is actually a large (you you read that right!) But anyway, I paired the dress with my new favorite blue wedges and my blue bag from Call it Spring! So yea I’m all about my Hues and Blue!
Bag: Call it Spring

But when I saw this green top I just knew it had to be mine. I paired with with my simple black skirt my black sandals. I knew I was going and Curvy Girl outting after work so I wanted to be put together yet comfortable! Truth is I’m in love with this top…you will see it again!
