It seems like I’ve been continuously attending weddings or prepping for a wedding. On October 26th I attended a wedding up in Cape Cod with my guy. Then 6 days later on November 1st I attended a wedding for my long time friend LaDonna in south Jersey. When I realized that I had both weddings practically back to back, of course my 1st thought was to buy 2 different dresses. But my wallet wasn’t about that life. So when I saw that Monif C was having a clearance sale, I jumped at the chance to purchase the Marilyn Convertible Dress. You all see where I’m going with this right?!
The fashionista in me was like NO how dare you wear the same dress twice AND post about it. But the logical part of me was like, it’s perfect. The point of the convertible dress is to show how tying it differently, adding different shoes & jewelry can really change up the dress.
For the wedding in Cape Cod, I opted for a more elegant sexy look. I wanted the dress to speak for itself, but still have my accessories make a statement as well.

For the wedding is south Jersey, I was determined to switch it up. Being that I knew the young lady getting married, I knew I had to come stepping. So I played with the dress in the mirror and this 1 shoulder look just struck a cord with my heart.

There you have it loves. I love my Monif C. dress, it was a HUGE hit at both weddings. I felt comfortable, elegant and sexy. It goes to show that a little bit of creativity can make all the world of a difference in an outfit choice. Until next time loves.
I’m trying something new here. I am making more of an attempt to step outside my fashion comfort zone, and wear things I normally wouldn’t. When the wonderful people over at Scarlett & Jo asked if I wanted to review their new Powerfit Dress, I said to myself sure let’s do it. However, I needed the right place and right time to wear the dress. So this pass Sunday when my mom was honored at church, I had the perfect dress in mind.
Dress: Scarlet Jo| Shoes: Payless| Bag: Vintage
Love the feel of the dress, very comfortable and breathable. The dress was constructed very well, definitely worth the quality. They come in 15 different colors and designs and features their signature mesh lining and gives you one hell of an hourglass figure. It does run rather big, so I would say size down when purchasing in order to achieve the absolute perfect fit. I got mine in a size 18 and I had to cinch about 1/2 an inch on both sides of the dress. (thank God for tailoring)
Scarlett & Jo works in collab with Evans (UK based plus size retailer) They offer very simple pieces, as well as staples that we all need to have in our closets. Be sure to check the Evans website to see more of their pieces.
Paired it with simple black pumps and a vintage bag I got from goodwill sometime ago, and I was ready for a simple fall day at church.
Until next time loves.
As much as I love fall, I just can’t seem to let go of the summer. As I was was getting dressed this morning, I looked through my closet to see what I had. I came across this wrap dress that I got from a thrift store a couple months ago. I’ve worn it before, but haven’t posted about it. And I thought what the hell, it’s comfortable and I have a rather long day ahead of me.
I typically hate to follow “plus size fashion rules” but this one, wrap dresses are super flattering, I definitely stick to from time to time. You can never go wrong with wrap dresses. There are so many ways to wear them, and are definitely transitional pieces that every girl should own.
I found the dress while browsing at a thrift store I frequent. I was really looking for anything in particular but then this caught my eye. And I knew it had to be mine.
Freshly twisted hair. I paired the outfit with my favorite vintage earrings and Eddy & Bri necklace. Something super simple
There you have it loves. Happy Fashion Week to my loves that are out & about for NYFW. Until next time loves.
1st off, Happy Father’s day to all the the dads out there. This post was a combination of bordem gone wrong and blogger inspiration. The other day, one of my favorite plus size bloggers Chasity of GarnerStyle, showed how she versatile one skirt can be. If you have seen it, check it out here.
But anyway, I bought this dress from Strawberry sometime in February and only wore it once. I actually forgot I had it cause, I couldn’t find it. (story of my life) But today as I was laying around I threw it on, and started thinking of different ways in can be worn. So off I went on my dressing up adventure lol Below are the quick simply outfits I came up with.
Belt: Lane Bryant
Bag: Call it Spring
Blazer: Lord & Taylor (old)
Shoes: Anne Klien
Thank you to Chasity for the inspiration. And for my loves that are on a budget, this is a great way to have multiple outfits just from one clothing item. You know how I do…now twirl honey lol
Until nest time loves
This summer I told myself I really wanted to stay away from high low dresses and skirts, because they are practically EVERYWHERE lol The market is so saturated with the cut that I’m in overload. But as I was getting dressed on this dreadfully hot day in NJ/NY I pulled out this dress that was all the way in the back of my closet. It was one of my favorites from last summer.
So I went against my own word and wore it lol. But I remember why I loved this dress so much. It is super light, comfy and perfect for a day with it’s sweltering out and I have to walk. And best of all it fits soooooo much better this year, than it did last year.
Dress: Forever 21
This dress always made me want to dance!
Until next time loves
Happy Easter my loves. Honestly I couldn’t find anything super “spring link” to wear on such a Sunday as this. So I opted for one of my fave Asos dresses. If you guys remember I bought this for my birthday back in February. I made to break up the black with my mint green pumps and matching jewelry.
Just a quick outfit for church. We always need that one outfit that we can throw on and feel super chic and cute.
Makeup for today
Had to hit a model pose
I live for these shoes.
So until next time loves Happy Easter.
It’s never to early to start to hunt down those fabulous holiday dresses. I mean lets be real it’s already September. Before we will be staring down the holiday season. And it should come as no surprise that Asos was my first place I turned to. Asos never lets me down with print filled dresses with just the perfect hem line. This fall/winter comes as no surprise to me, deep reds, navys, lace and plenty of sequin to go around. There is no way you won’t sparkle when you walk into the room
Red and sequins…how can a girl not feel fabulous in this dress. It also comes in black for those looking to be understated but still bold.
Lace & mesh…do I need to say anything more?! With the perfect shoes and bag, you’re ready to bring your holiday in with style.
Champagne colors for a dress always worked for me. I think I just may need to purchase this little beauty.
If you ever wanted to be a statement piece, this will definitely will do it for you.
Navy is slowly making its way into my closet this season. Ad I’m quite excited about it. This dress may be simple, but that’s the beauty of fashion…right? making things your own!

Until next time ladies
If for some unknown reason you were living under a rock, last night was Fashion’s Night Out and being a hop skip & step from NY, its imperative that I go. I didn’t get to do everything I wanted but we’re not going to get into that. I spent my night at Yotel for Plus Night Out. Got to see some great designs, so great models and network my butt off. I mean that’s what it’s all about right.

Channeling my inner model lol
My new shoes!
Hi/lo hems are so awesome!
So until next time ladies!
So I have been meaning to do a post about this dress I got from H&M like a month ago. I’m so in love with this dress. I had to get it cause it’s a hi/lo dress, but how can I forget the absolutely fabulous color! for the #win. H&M is growing on my list of places to always go to. Don’t be afraid to try things on in H&M. A lot of their dresses have great stretch that can fit our curves. This dress is actually a large (you you read that right!) But anyway, I paired the dress with my new favorite blue wedges and my blue bag from Call it Spring! So yea I’m all about my Hues and Blue!
