Going Print Crazy

Hey Loves,

So recently within the last couple days, I have been going on a print binge. I find myself gravitating towards anything with an aztec print or a geometric print. Granted it’s definitely a trend for the summer. But a lot of my recent purchases include something with a really strong print.

But the truth is print is very fashion forward and chic. Now I don’t advocate for full on print outfits, because only certain people can pull it off the right way. I am not one of those people. But pairing a printed shoe with a basic suit, or top and bottom. You allow for the shoe to be your statement.

One of my recent purchases from Shoedazzle. For those that want to be office chic, there will do it for you.

Some times a nice printed jumpsuit with a black shoe and statement jewelry can do wonders.

Or my recent personal favorite; harem pants with a nice denim top and flats is great for a summer brunch with the girls.

And who doesn’t love a bandu top. Ladies don’t get it twisted, we can wear bandu tops, just know the difference between chic and tacky.

Here are some other printed options, that I’m currently swooning over
ING dress from Macy’s
Igigi wrap dress via Madison Plus

Kaleidoscope pants for Dorothy Perkins
These are just a select few items that I have my eye on. Remember prints are made to be fun, and to add to your overall look. Not overpower. Cause the last thing you want is to look like Kim Kardashian at the Met Gala looking like you grandmother’s couch. lol I’m just saying. So let me know how you feel about prints.
Until next time loves.

Spring Time Florals

Hey Loves,

This look was kind of inspired by my love Kelly of Masque Mag. I saw her in her great pink blazer looking so ready for the weather. I just knew I had to throw on something that made me feel extra springy (yup i made up a new word lol)

The sun is shining and if you’ve been following me for some time, you would know that I personally hate to cover my legs in warm weather. I need to be in skirts, shorts and dresses. So when I was watching the news this morning, they said NY would hit a high of 78 degrees, your girl was ready to bring the gams out!

Outfit Details:
Dress: Closet Sale
Belt: Vintage (moms drawer)
Shoes: Target
Glasses: Lunettes Kollektion

So I got this really awesome dress from a closet sale that Plus Model Mag sponsored earlier this year. I got it for only $10 #score!

The weather has been sucky to say the least. So it is such an awesome feeling to be able to show some skin and feel cute. Oh spring/summer how I’ve missed thee.

When I bought the dress I worried if it would be good for the warm weather. Cause you know the weather here in NJ/NY can be soooooo rude lol But it’s actually very light.

I really love the print of this dress. When I saw it just knew it had to be mine.  I do need to have it altered a bit. Being that I am not a busty girl the top have of the dress is rather big on me. But please believe I made it work for today lol.

These are my favorite glasses. They are from a German designer by the name of Lunettes Kollektion. I love them. They fit my face so well. And they can be dressed up and chic but still have vintage vibe. It’s a win win for me.

So there you have it. I hope you all are ready to enjoy this weather. How are you ringing in spring?

Until next time loves

Turn Heads at Prom Pt.2

Hey Loves,

Ok so now that we have options for senior prom lets move on to jr. prom. This is actually double duty post. Because I am someone whose school did 2 proms a year. Junior prom in my opinion is a glorified cocktail party. So in my opinion, a floor length gown really isn’t needed. Also for those girls who are more on the short side and don’t want to do a floor length gown, and want shorter hem, this is for you.

So that way when you walk in the room, you not only turn heads, you break necks. This will be part 1 of what I’m calling the Prom Head Turner Series. I will explore dress options for both Jr. and Sr. prom, shoe ideas, hair ideas, and makeup to make your big day the best it can be.

Stylin’ at the Grammy’s

So yea folks the Grammy’s were on last night. And to be honest I didn’t really watch, but the moments I did catch weren’t half bad. Like Ellen Degeneres making Beyonce extremely awkward. Or Rihanna’s performance etc. But I’m not here to talk about the actual show, we all the know the most important part of award season is the FASHION. And like so many other blogs and what not, my top choices should not come as a surprise. so here we go..

#1 Kelly Rowland in Georges Chakra Couturegown

I think she looked absolutely stunning. And I do think she looked better than Bey. Lately Kelly has really been giving life. After her perfomance at the Superbowl and this week making a slash, she is doing it for me.This dress does wonderes for her curves, its sexy, but still elegant.  And I loved her hair pulled up so we can appreciate her face and the dress.

#2 Rihanna in a custom made Azzedine Alaia dress

You all know I love me some RiRi. But talk about lady in red. I think it was perfect for the night. Very in your face (much like her) but still tasteful and sexy. The hair definitely took me back to her ‘Pon de Replay’ days. It was age appropriate for her. Get em girl!

3# Solange in Ralph & Russo Couturegown

My girl Solange was serving all types of leg last night lol I thought it was fun. Rather different from what we are use to seeing her in. I love that she played with color in her shoe, The bright orange color was great. At least wasn’t boring wear a black or neutral color shoe. And of course in Solange fashion she came with fro. I personally wouldn’t have gone with such a big fro, but she still loved great.

#4 Katy Perry in Gucci
Clearly having moved on from her ex husband is doing wonders for Ms. Perry. She was giving up that cleavage and I was living lol. I like seeing her “put together” and not over the top. She kept her hair simple (wise choice)

#5 Alicia Keys in Azzedine Alaia
My Girl Alicia Keys never does wrong in my eyes when it comes to fashion. The curves on this woman just makes clothes look AMAZING!!!! The black against her skin is perfect, the short cut is still giving me life, very edgy, and sexy, but appropriate. POW!!!

#6 Kelly Osbourne in Paule Ka
Let me tell you, this girl has come a looooooong way. And she does my heart so good. She looked amazing. Even with the purple hair. She slicked it back in a low pony tail, and kept her make up fresh. She showed that you can be an edgy, but still find the right time to clean up and allow yourself to be elegant. Loved her.

So there you have it loves. My faves for the night. I think there were a lot of hits and quite a few misses, and some that fell in the middle. But all of these women, who are beautiful really did it for me. Who were you faves or non faves from last night. Comment below!!!

Dots…

ha Dots (dot dot dot) Hey loves. So it’s about time that I do this post. I have been a huge fan of Dots. I am in there ALL the time. And that is mostly where I get my boots from. A that seems to always be a common question I get on instagram when I where them. Dots has come a loooooooong way over the years. They have put thought into the quality of their clothing. And also offer an extensive option of plus size clothing.

They offer everything from skinny jeans, to leggings, to sweaters, to blazers to bras and panties. For it’s usually a one stop shop, if I know I need something cute really quick. And of course because they reasonably priced I rock with it. And they are always having great sales. I get the text messages and I go HAM. What I enjoy most is that they not only give us boring sweaters and tops. I have purchased sheer tops, body-con dresses, my favorite black skinny jeans that I wore to death and majority of my boots.

Recently in 2012 they have open e-commerce. So you can now buy their clothing online. Which in the past customers have been begging for. But of course like most stores their options are always better in store. And recently in 2012 as well, they launched their credit card. Now I know in this economy the last thing you want is another credit card. But if you’re there often it pays off. (no I don’t have it lol)

Dots is the fast fashion party place for women’s apparel and accessories at exceptional prices. The brand caters to women ages 25 to 35 who are both fashion- and price- conscious.

Our buyers shop NYC, LA and Europe to bring its customers the latest high-fashion runway trends interpreted for real people. The second I saw this dress I knew it had to be mine. I got this from their main line!

Everything I have on this outfit is from Dots.

You always ask me about these boots on instagram. Dots goes up to a size 12 in some styles and a majority of their boots are wide calf.
These pants which I love, and apparently you all did too lol

The lace top neck lace and earrings

And how could I forget one of my favorite dresses of the summer. May have to wear this again!

And Being that I’m living that college grad lifestyle, a decent price for clothes is a must. So I am quite excited to talk about a new online called Smoke & Glamour. What I adore about S&G, is that she uses real models to show off the clothes. So that we can have an idea as to what to expect with certain items. Summer meets Fall

One thing we as bloggers go through is that change in weather, but not wanting to have to buy all new clothes. So as our lovely summer days fade to cool fall, and now chilly winter nights I still have the urge to wear my adorable summer dresses. So that begs the question, what does one do? For the last week and some change, I made a point to wear my favorite summer pieces adding a pair of boots and some stockings and ya girl was ready to go.

This little black dress made me feel so sexy. And I had to rock it with pops of color to break of the black. And to bring my girl into fall I DIY’d so holes in my stockings, my lovely denim jacket from Forever 21 and my thrifted black rider boots. You couldn’t tell me I was hot in this cold weather.

Over the summer Target was my place to shop, I was going HAM. The top, which is actually a simple body-con dress worked perfectly with this high/low skirt that i couldn’t get enough of. so to move it from my summer heels, I tossed on my opaque tights (from target) my fave leopard print wedges from Just fab and I was ready to brave this rather chilly NJ weather.

When I say this dress at Old Navy, I just knew that it had to be mine. And ever since I got it, it has been nothing but a head turn for me! To stay cool in the heat I paired it with my leopard print sandal wedges they just made my legs look sooooo choice lol To keep it warm for the fall/winter tights and knee high boots…POW!! lol

So my loves how did you transition from summer to fall/winter? Until next time love.

It’s a Fashion World After All

Yea I know the title is super corny…buuuut who cares lol So I am back with another online shopping site for the curvy women of the world. It’s a one stop shop offering great plus size clothing; everything from dresses and skirts to swimware and lingerie. Based out of the UK Fashion World gives us curvy women more options, not even just choice of clothing, but is size options as well. A lot of their pieces got to either a size 32, 34 or 36. And even though I’m an 18 its always comforting to know that I have options in sizing in case something runs small. And if you don’t have time to sit in front of the computer, they offer the option of requesting a catalogue. (yup taking it back lol)

At the moment they do not ship outside the UK, but for all my UK loves be sure to check them out, if you’re into looking at new plus size online stores.

Fashion World Limited is a sister company to J D Williams & Company Limited, the UK’s leading direct home shopping company, operating over 20 successful catalogue brands. Our catalogues offer a huge selection of clothing and other products for all ages and sizes. All our clothes are designed to provide the best fit at the best value, and we are specialists in the area of larger size womenswear.

Fashionworld.co.uk

So let check out some options shall we?

First can we talk about how hot those black wet look leggings are? If you can’t afford American Apparel disco pants, you can always make it work with theses. and then check out the high wasted snake skin leggings. A high waist anything is perfect.

Sheer skirt for a dress, so much sex appeal but still classy. And one of the hottest trend out right now, a collared shirt dress. And, it my not be the boldest dress, but that’s when the shoes the accessories and the bag come in to play!
I actually just ordered the maxi skirt, can’t wait to rocking the living life out of it. And who doesn’t love a dogstooth skirt. I mean let’s be honest.

What do you think? Until next time loves.
