The YEEZUS TOUR told us don’t Listen to Him

Hey Loves,

The title should’ve said it all. Last night my cousin got tickets to see Kanye West at the Barclay’s Center in down town Brooklyn. I’m the 1st to say that I’m not totally feeling Kayne right now, but he can put on one HELL of a show. And being this was my 1st major concert, and my 1st time at the Barclay’s I have to say I had an amazing time. Kanye got real with us. He did some of his older hits, but his Yeezus album was front and center.
I don’t know how my cousin did it, but I think we had some great seats. No we weren’t right up on the stage, but we definitely weren’t in the nose bleed seats. He had Kendrick motherf***kin Lamar as his opener. He did his thing as the crowd made their way into the venue.

Yes he has his face covered for majority of the show. Only Kanye lol
He did have a moment vulnerability, talking about his life, the lost of his mother, the media, and everything. Those are the moments when even with him calling himself God, even he realizes that he’s still human. But in true Kanye fashion, he didn’t hesitate to remind the packed 15,000 Barclay’s Stadium, that we shouldn’t listen to the “nay-saysers”, our haters, the instagram trolls, the media…we shouldn’t even listen to him. We need to let our own flashing lights shine.
I can’t lie, his set was amazing. Between the lights, the pyrotechnics, the smoke, and of course the music, it was truly an experience.

Yup he had Jesus on stage lol Right before we all sang Jesus Walks.

I feel like, you can feel how ever you want to feel about Kanye. Yea most of us aren’t feeling him right now, nor is baby-mama/wife to be but truthfully he is a true artist and genius. He makes you think. He makes you uncomfortable, he says thinks that will defy certain feelings. But at the end of the day that’s what a true artist does. And to be honest, I wasn’t as offended as expected to be. Reading some of the blogs, and other write ups, I was expected to be like truly pissed and angry. But I think when you look at it from a creative stand point you’re able to adjust your judgement.

And this is how you end a show lol Looking up and Jesus, and just straight walking off.

Needless to say, I had an awesome time. Kanye made sure you got ALL your moneys worth. And no I’m not angry or up in arms about the religious aspect. I know where I stand with God & and I won’t let this upset me. At the end of the day, it was jumpin! So until next time loves.

ATGC on the Scene; One Stop Plus Preview

Hey Loves,

I was flattered when I received the invite to attend a preview for whats to come for One Stop Plus in 2014. If you are not familiar with One Stop Plus, they are the largest online plus size shopping mall. They gather some of the best designers and place them in one spot, so they are at your finger tips. You can find everyone from Jessica London, to City Chic.

The preview was held at the Bryant Park Hotel in the beautiful Loft space on the 25th floor. I was greeted by the very welcoming PR team and given a very detailed tour of what was on the racks.

Being that OSP makes a point to offer a little something for everyone, the racks were full of your usual basics, evening gowns, bathing suits and knits. And the tables were covered with shoes, bags & jewelry

I love these Oxfords. They are super little, comfortable and are perfect for the spring to add with your skinny jeans or shorts. They will offer up to size 12.5 and will offer regular, wide and extra wide width.

My favorites from the preview

This Ulla Popken tweed jacket was everything. Light weight, but very luxurious. The colors are perfect for this time of the year, and the jewels add the perfect touch.

I don’t need to tell you why this blazer for City Chic is everything! It was clear that this was a favorite of the day. The back detailing is perfect for the girl that is always looking to give a little surprise.

This white leather skater dress, had my heart racing. A good skater dress is always good to have, but one in white leather is something to get excited about.

One Stop Plus offers a little something for every taste. And as always, the prices also fit pretty much every budget. So be sure to keep your eye on One Stop Plus, you never know what you can and will fine. A huge thank you to the One Stop Plus team for the invite.

ATGC on the Scene; Rafaella Preview

Hey Loves,

As I am trying to expand the blog and get involved with different brands, I was excited to get an invite to preview Rafaella‘s SS14 line. I have heard of the line before, so it was quite nice to see the collection up close & personal.

Rafaella does offer plus size both in average as well as petite. The size ranges from 16-24 in most of their styles. Rafaella offers very chic a classic pieces. Dress pants, skirts, blouses, and dress come in great colors and most of all great prints. Loads of prints.!

Rafaella® launched in 1982, and from day one, our focus has been on you—the modern woman. On-trend, in demand and on the go, you’re a woman who fits it all in, and you expect the same from your apparel. Life demands versatility and flexibility, after all; your clothes should offer the same. That’s why we built our success on a winning combination: luxury fabrics and great style with an impeccable fit. And, of course, The Perfect Fitting Pant.

Today, we continue to build our legacy on clothing that not only Fits Your Shape, but fits your busy lifestyle. Balancing style and performance, the Rafaella design team in New York strives to offer our consumer effortless, sophisticated style options that mix and match for a woman perpetually on the move with discerning taste for a flawless fit.

My favorite looks from the collections. I’m really loving the quilted and structured styles. The shirt dress on the left spoke to my heart, along with the jacket pictured above. I also enjoy the color palette of these pieces. The red/orange on black, it’s quite an interesting choice for summer/spring, but I think it’s going to totally be on trend when the warm months come back around.
My look for the night. I kept it simple & chic for the night.
Dress: Asos| Belt: H&M| Boots: Payless

There you have it loves. Thank you to the Rafaella team and the Lividini & Co. team for the invite. I am anxious to see these pieces once they hit stores. I’m sure they’ll be a hit. Until next time loves.

ATGC on the Scene; Torrid Holiday Preview

Hey loves,

Last week I was excited to attend the preview of Torrid’s new holiday arrivals. It was hosted by the wonderful Gabi Gregg. And as usual I got to see all my blogger loves, mix & mingle, eat, drink, and try on clothes.

Upon arrival I was greeted by some of there PR team, which is why I always love their events. I always get a chance to spend a couple minutes with their buyers and or designers.

Racks of clothes for us to try on.

Their jeans, in my opinion Torrid has some of best jeans in the business. They fit great, they will last you, and I usually never have a problem with length with their jeans. I have my eye on their new boyfriend jeans.

All the shoes you could want. I love Torrid‘s shoes, because they understand that we as plus women tend to have wider feet and calves. So they make sure to always accommodate us.

My look for the night.
 Tunic/Dress: Henrik Vibskov| Booties: Torrid

Had an awesome time as usual. Thanks to Gabi & Torrid for the invite. Always a good time. Until next time loves.

3rd Times a charm with Sofistafunk

Hey Loves,
By now you should know that one of my favorite clothing lines is the skirt company by the name of Sofistafunk. This is the 3rd time I’ve had the pleasure of wearing some pieces from them. The 1st two times were here & here. Y’all know me, if I’m going out, I have show up and show out for the kids *2 snaps & a twirl*

When trying to figure out what to wear to Curvy Closets in Philly, I knew right away that no better option would be Sofistafunk. And being that I had the pleasure of walking in multiple fashion shows for Ms. Arlinda, I already knew what I wanted to wear.
Ms. Arlinda has away of making things look amazing.  I actually wore this look in all black for one of her shows and wanted replicate it. So I begged for the yellow skirt (yes my top is a skirt) the belt and grey skirt. Needless to say, I was definitely a spectacle all night. And much to my surprise, the yellow photographs VERY well.
Thank you again to Ms. Arlinda for the pieces I couldn’t be happier. I said it from he 1st post, she has a customer for life. Check out my post on the Curvy Closets fashion gala. Until next time loves.

ATGC On the scene; Curvy Closets

Hey Loves,
If you follow me on instagram you know that I had the pleasure of attending tje 2nd annual Curvy Closets fashion event in Philly. This is my 2nd year going and I must say it is always an event to look forward to. I did attend last year’s event you can check it out here.

This year’s theme was pretty in pink and a portion of the funds went to Hairless for her awareness, a none profit organization that raises money for women with Breast Cancer. I was lucky enough to be one of their bloggers for the evening so you all know I had to show up and show out. This year show included some really innovative plus size designers; Sean Anthony designs, Eolcin, and the debut of Allison McGevna’s new line TwentyFour Twenty and many more.

Eyani Couture

The models ripped that runway (quite literally lol) I saw some new faces, and some very familiar faces. It was an awesome evening of fashion, fun and body acceptance.

Barbells for Boods

Hey Loves,

Of course we all know that October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, some of you may or may not know  my mother is a breast cancer survivor. So when my bestie Meredith reached out to me about what her cross fit gym was doing to raise money in conjunction with Barbell for Boobs, I jumped on the chance write a post.

Barbells for Boobs, was founded in 2009 by Zionna Munoz after learning that a best friend of hers was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 26.Through her persistence, and even being referred to come back when she was 40, Zionna’s friend found out that she had Stage o breast cancer. That in part is what inspired Zionna to create B4B, and she has made tremendous strides with this organization.

Barbells for Boobs is a non-profit organization that provides funding to pay for breast cancer detection services as a last resort
for thousands of people who don’t qualify for assistance elsewhere.

Our aim is to help anyone that needs it, anywhere, whether they are male or female, no matter what their age or situation in life.

My besties’ gym Brazen Athletics is raising money for women to get mammograms for early detection. A complete mammogram only costs $80. Ladies we spend more than that on shoes and clothes.. Their goal as a team is to raise $1000 & so far they are 1/2 way there. But of course they would love to surpass that amount. If you would like to donate, or join this team click the link Brazen Athletics

For more information on B4B, starting a team, joining a team, or just to donate, head to Barbellsforboobs.org

Speaking of  Breast Cancer, my mother is featured as the Charge Woman of the month. head to Chargemagazine.org to read about her journey and survival of Breast Cancer. Until next time loves.

ATGC On the Scene; Plus Night Out

Hey Loves,

Friday Sept. 13th was one hell of a day for me. I had the esteem pleasure of being a part of the Plus Night Out movement. Sadly because I was working the event, my POV was a little different than normal. So most of the pics in this post are not mine, and I will list below the ownership. Let’s get into it.

PNO was hosted by Joanne Borgella on NUVOtv’s “Curvy Girls” and featured 11 different designers that have the curvy/plus size women in mind. Great pieces hung on the bodies of countless models that let the world know that our curves are nothing to be ashamed of.

Both mainstream (Ashley Stewart & Igigi) and indie designers (chocolate sushi) showcased their creations and visions. Of course there were a few hits and misses, as to be expected in all fashions shows. But for the most part I was really pleased with what I saw.

Naturally I had to give 2 snaps and a twirl to the fabulous women that walked the runway. They really showed up and showed out, like we expect anything less.

I also would be remiss if I didn’t say a huge congratulations to the newest Ashley Stewart & True Model Management Model Aliyah Cherisse. All her hard work and dedication paid off. She is the winner of PNO/Ashely Stewart model search. It’s always nice to see models really work and come out on top. I’ve kept my eye on her for quite some time now. So proud of her.

A preview of Joanne Borgella’s new line that is soon to launch. (she will be looking for some new models just fyi lol )

Naturally I had to snap a pic with her. She is absolutely beautiful in person. She did a great job keeping the crowd energized during the show.

So there you have it loves. PNO was an awesome experience, and I look forward to being a part of it in the future. A huge thank you goes to Ms. Jovanna Reyes for allowing me this opportunity. Can’t wait to make magic with you again. Until next time loves.
