Easter...that is all

Happy Easter my loves. Honestly I couldn't find anything super "spring link" to wear on such a Sunday as this. So I opted for one of my fave Asos dresses. If you guys remember I bought this for my birthday back in February. I made to break up the black with my mint green pumps and matching jewelry.
Just a quick outfit for church. We always need that one outfit that we can throw on and feel super chic and cute.

Outfit Details:
Dress: Asos
Shoes: JustFab

 I live for these shoes.

So until next time loves Happy Easter.

Turn Heads at Prom Pt.2

Ok so now that we have options for senior prom lets move on to jr. prom. This is actually double duty post. Because I am someone whose school did 2 proms a year. Junior prom in my opinion is a glorified cocktail party. So in my opinion, a floor length gown really isn't needed. Also for those girls who are more on the short side and don't want to do a floor length gown, and want shorter hem, this is for you.

City Chic

City Chic is always for that girl can mix in with the crowd, but without notice, become so daring. And I haven't seen anyone do a full skirt like them.

SWAK; Seeled With A Kiss
SWAK is just to cute for my soul lol If you know in your heart, color is what you want, be sure to cruise their site. because they will make you life happy lol

Dorothy Perkins

Dorothy Perkins, is always a great place to buy dresses. Because they are online, they have tons of options. And no shortage of dress that make anyone look stunning.

Igigi via Sonsi

Igigi does give an older feel, but its all about how you wear something. Form fitting and color, is perfect for prom. Again this type of dress lets you make it what you want it to be.

Adrianna Papell via Macys
Macy's is always that go to department store that can almost never let you down. I personally have found plenty of great options there. If you need some thing elegant and quick, they're a good place.

Rue 114

Rue 114 is great for that print that you definitely won't see on anyone else. The sweetheart top gives a great neckline, which gives you options to play with your hair and jewelry.

Stay tuned for shoes....

Turn Heads at Prom

Yup it's that time of year again. A lot of you have been sending messages for some ideas for prom. So I took some time to look up some really great options for prom. So that way when you walk in the room, you not only turn heads, you break necks. This will be part 1 of what I'm calling the Prom Head Turner Series. I will explore dress options for both Jr. and Sr. prom, shoes ideas, hair ideas, and make up to make your big day the best it can be.

If you haven't seen my post from last year (which happens to still be 1 of my most popular posts) you can check it out here. I love doing post about prom because it's on of those memories from high school that I always smile at.
For me in high school, prom was a big deal. My alma mater did prom very well. It was quite a spectical, and if I had the chance I would do it again.

So my goal for this post is to really give your girls some fun options. Prom is suppose to be one the of the best nights of a girl's life. And we all know everything is all about the dress. Shoes, hair, makeup and your date's matching tux can come after.

The dresses I selected below are for sure going to have you feel like you belong on the red carpet. This is for my loves heading to Senior prom. And most importantly, no other girl will look like you. I want you to feel beautiful and feel sexy (appropriate sexy of course lol) So let's get to it...
Igigi
Arianda Gown & Stella Gown

Monif C.
Dana High/low Dress & Bridgette Dress

Big Girls United
Monique Dress

 Qristyl Frazier Designs
Affection Dress & Icon Dress

Shanda Freeman
White Athena Dress  & Lilly Dress

Simply Be
AX Paris Dress

So as you notice I gave you no black lol I want you to have fun, and look amazing. Yes a few of them are showing some leg, but you all know how I feel about that lol. Also don't be discouraged by the fact that some of them have sleeves. These are just some ideas. And I really wanted to stray away from the typical prom dress. It's about stepping outside of the box. Even if you don't buy on of these particular dresses, use them as inspiration.

So there you have it loves. Once you take those pics, be sure to submit them.

I Wear Purple Pants

If you saw the last post, I wrote about the awesome store opening Shirley & Alice, it wouldn't be complete if I didn't do an outfit post. I must say I am in total love with this outfit. I was finally able to wear these great pants I got from the thrift store. Since I was heading to a vintage store opening, it was only right that I pull out something vintage. But I knew I didn't want to wear a skirt. I really wanted to wear pants.

When I 1st bought these pants, I knew exactly what I want to wear with them. And when I found this top from H&M, I knew it had to be mine. It is a cardigan that i turned backwards...just trying to be creative! And my shoes...I got the on sale from Macy's when I 1st saw them, I actually was kinda eh whatever. But then I put them on, and it was all she wrote lol

Outfit Details:
Tops: H&M
Pants: Thrift Store
Shoes: Style & Co. frm Macys
Bag: DIY

Ok I have to say that I am so in love with this red lipstick. .99 from CVS. I'm always skeptical about red lippy colors. I was have the hardest time finding one that worked for me. But when I put this on, honey child I couldn't stop looking at myself in the mirror lol

All in all I loved this outfit and it was a great success! What do you think?

Until next time loves.

Meet Shirley & Alice

No Shirley & Alice are not two people. But an awesome new vintage boutique in Brooklyn. One thing I love about being a blogger is the opportunity to go to different events and get a chance to meet new people. Get to see who is doing what, and really be around a new vibe. And of course having a reason to dress up lol. So when my good friend Desmone sent me the invite for this event, I jumped on it. Celebrity stylist and vintage extraordinaire Khalilah Williams-Webb finally opened her vintage boutique Shirley & Alice in Brooklyn. (clap clap clap)

For her, opening this boutique was a long time dream. 10 years to be exact. It was nice to see the turn out for the culmination of her dream come together. She offers really great, and I mean great vintage options. Everything from floor length gowns, to awesome demin jackets with fringe. From African print to sequins and buttons. It’s definitely a vintage lovers place to be. Everything is so unique, colors, prints, fur, and flannel lol just everything you could want.

The event was small, rather intimate. But I liked it. You could really take time to meet people, take pictures, discuss how much we loved the store and the pieces in it. And of course take in how awesome we all were dressed lol. I mean hey being slightly vain never hurt anyone. Right?

And being that it was intimate, Khalilah was able to walk around and actually meet people. If you wanted a picture, you could ask her…not her “team”. As a blogger I can really respect that. If we’re coming to celebrate with you, I at least want to meet you and snap a few pics

I was living for her shoes!

But I digress, as me and my name twin Shaina chit chatted with each other we got to talk with some of the other fashionable women there. Yes we know how to network not only our businesses but ourselves as women. Yea we're on our grind.

Oh I CANNOT forget the awesome drinks and cupcakes. The Liq New York had the most amazing sangria I have ever had. As well as white sangria cupcakes…oh man!

All in all I had a great time. As usual, I handed out a few business cards and got to taken a little bit of Brooklyn fashion…#ilive

Shirley & Alice is located at 434 Marcus Garvey Blvd. in Brooklyn. Across the street from Brooklyn Swirl. If you have time, be sure to check it out. Also to see more of Khalilah's work head to her website here. More photos on the facebook fan page.

To see my outfit from the night, check the next post.
Xoxo
