Happy New Year - A Thick Girl's Closet

Happy New Year

12:00 PM

Hey Loves,

Happy New Year to ALL OF YOU. I hope each and everyone of you had an amazing New Years Eve. However you rang in 2016 whether it was in church, a club, house party or with your pj's & champagne...I hope it was fun & most of all safe. I'm sure you've all either seen or done your resolutions. You know I don't really do "resolutions" but as 2015 came a close I thought about want I wanted me 2016 to be a about. What will be main purpose, my main goal, my focus for 2016. I've tossed around a few words, thoughts & mantras and I've settled on one word; GROWTH.

I have so many plans for myself this year both personally & professionally. In order for me to ensure that I accomplish some or all the things on my list, I have to step by game up as a blogger, as a writer, and as a content creator. For me growth is more than just maturing and knowing what to do or not to do.

Growth is about stepping out of myself and taking more risk. Actually going for the things I want & dream about without holding myself back, without second guessing myself, without letting others tell me it can't be done.

Growth is about walking in my faith. Believing that God has already ordered my steps and what is for me will be for me if I work for it.

Growth is about not being bound by fear. I know that as I embark on this journey in 2016 failure on some level is inevitable, but it doesn't have to be debilitating.  I have to learn to keep pushing when something doesn't work out.

Growth is about not letting finances be a roadblock. Now yes we all need money to survive, cause bills have to get paid. And as a girl on a MAJOR budget, growth financially is definitely on the list for this year lol

Growth is about keeping my mental health as healthy as my physical health. I can be my best self if my mind is clouded & unfocused.

Growth is about broadening my horizons. Many of you know I had the chance to do quite a bit of traveling in 2015 Puerto Rico, Vermont, Costa Rica, and Las Vegas. I already have a number of trips planned for 2016 and I am so excited to get out of my little bubble and explore different places & create life long memories.

There you have it loves. Welcome to 2016. What are some of your goals or mantras for 2016? Let me know. See you in my next post.

xoxo
Shay
