Rocking Denim from Maurices - A Thick Girl's Closet

Rocking Denim from Maurices

10:16 AM

Hey Loves,

I'm not normally one to wear denim during the summer. Because these legs need to breath in the heat. But when the awesome people over at Maurices asked if I wanted to give their denim a try, I jumped at the chance. I've shopped Maurices quite a few times in the past, but never tried on their jeans. However after rocking these for a couple weeks, I don't know where these jeans have been my whole life. You all know I can never do just one look. So for this post I created 2 very simple looks using jeans from Maurices. Let's take a look.
For the first look I wanted a very casual, but fun look. I went with this distressed jeggings & paired it with a simple stripped t-shirt & some black heels. This is a look I would wear out for a causal date night or a dinner with the girls. I have to say I am obsessed with this jeans. The fit is AMAZING. These will easily be my go-to jeans.

I was a little bummed that this jeans didn't have front pockets, because I'm use to being able to put things in my pocket. But they fit so well that I can overlook the pocket thing. Many of you know my main struggle with jeans is length. Because of that I tend to favor skinny jeans because if the jeans are too short, I can always cuff the legs and make them cropped. It'll look like I meant for them to be short.

The one thing that made head over heels for these jeggings was the length. I made sure to select the tall, when shopping online. I was very surprised that they were actually tall. They are long enough that they can be worn with flats, sandals or pumps and not looked cropped. They are definitely tall girl friendly.

I completed this look with chunky heels I got in the mail from Shoedazzle, and this simple yellow bag from Neiman Marcus Last Call. This bag is too cute, and is a great summer bag. It's perfect for those that just want to carry a few things while heading out.

For the second look, I went for a fun but classic look. White jeans are great in the summer time. They are classic, fresh & always on trend in warm weather.

At first it took some time to get use these distressed jeggings. But once they formed to my body, I didn't want to take them off. The length on these were rather short. I did cuff them for a casual cropped look.

I paired the look with this City Chic high/low top that I got from Gwynnie Bee.  For my shoes I went with these rose gold wedges also from Maurices. I was quite surprised to see that they had size 11 shoes. When I did get them in the mail, at first they weren't easy to get on. I had to go old school and use lotion to get them on. However once I broke them in, they were a breeze to slip on and off. You'll probably be seeing these A LOT this summer.

There you have it loves. I have to say the dark wash jeggings are by far my favorite. Definitely give Maurices jeans a try. They're affordable, and amazing for the plus size fashionistas. See you in my next post & happy shopping!
