Yup it’s February is here so of course, we talk about Valentine’s Day…because societal norms. lol And because I love getting dressed so thank you to the folks at Fashion to Figure here are some sexy options for Valentine’S Day. All three looks are perfect for a date night with your husband/boyfriend wife/girlfriend, a date with your homegirls or hell a date with yourself (which I’m all for btw) Fashion to Figure has always been a go-to shop for me when I need something sexy.
I can’t tell you how excited I was to post this look. This past Saturday I got a chance to spend a wonderful few hours up at Saratoga Race Course
. When I got the invite to go, I automatically knew that meant 2 things; Chic & a Big Hat
. If you’ve ever kept up with the Kentucky Derby, you know exactly what kind of look to pull together. I played around with a couple different dresses but none really tickled my fancy. But I happened to be walking around in Fashion to Figure when I saw this white skater dress, and I knew it was perfection.
I was quite shocked at how amazing this dress felt on. It wasn’t thin or too “see-through” it was perfect. I was able to let the dress catch some wind without feeling like everyone would see my goodies. The length was perfect for my tall frame, even gave a hit of cleavage. And I was very proud of myself, I was able to keep my dress white all day. lol
It was my 1st time at the track, to say I had fun would be a huge understatement.
This bag, which is actually laptop case, was a HIT! My laptop wouldn’t fit, but I knew it would be a fantastic clutch. It’s from one of my favorite brands 5 Preview
. You’ve seen me wear their clothing & bags numerous times. It does come with a strap so I’m figuring out how I plan to wear this bag again.
Needless to say my Saturday was amazing. Be on the look out for my recap of my day at the Races. Until next time loves.
Myself & some of NY’s best bloggers all got together for a preview of Fashion to Figure’s upcoming summer options. It was at the lovely Soho House down in SoHo (obviously lol) I’ve been an avid shopper of FTF since they 1st open back when I was in high school. So it was nice to see a brand really grow and take the opinions of bloggers into consideration.
Racks of clothes….like we need any other reasons to show up lol
Drinks for the night…soooooo good lol
Groupie selfies…what bloggers do best.
There you have it loves. You guys know I love going to events and sharing them with you. These photos are not mine, they were set to me by the PR company for FTF. Until next time loves.
This past Saturday me and my love went to a baby shower brunch for one of his co-workers. It was held at the Norwalk Inn up in Connecticut. It was super cute, it was held in the outdoor greenhouse, and we couldn’t have asked for a better day weather wise. So for the occasion I wanted to be “festive” cause for some reason I never equate fall colors and baby showers. I always feel that spring/summer colors “go with” baby showers lol So I pulled out ole reliable…my green tunic. I wore this into the ground during the summer
I’ll post about the baby shower in a separate post, so stay tuned for that loves.
Top: Fashion to Figure| Leggings: Dots| Boots: Payless| Bag: Gucci
This is the reason why I love tunics (or long tops) they are always very transitional. I paired this top with my leggings, and a simple boot, it’s simple and casual but still put together for a baby shower. This was my favorite piece in summer, shorts and sandals and I was ready to go. But for the fall, leggings and a pair of boots, works just as well.
If you follow me on instagram, you know I posted a couple selfies of my face & and hair. I decided, once I washed and retwisted my hair, I out a few braids in and let it dry, and they come one crinkled like this. It’s been a long time since I’ve done my hair like this, and I love it.
Like I said stay tuned for my post on the baby shower. Until next time loves.
As much as I love fall, I just can’t seem to let go of the summer. As I was was getting dressed this morning, I looked through my closet to see what I had. I came across this wrap dress that I got from a thrift store a couple months ago. I’ve worn it before, but haven’t posted about it. And I thought what the hell, it’s comfortable and I have a rather long day ahead of me.
I typically hate to follow “plus size fashion rules” but this one, wrap dresses are super flattering, I definitely stick to from time to time. You can never go wrong with wrap dresses. There are so many ways to wear them, and are definitely transitional pieces that every girl should own.
I found the dress while browsing at a thrift store I frequent. I was really looking for anything in particular but then this caught my eye. And I knew it had to be mine.
Freshly twisted hair. I paired the outfit with my favorite vintage earrings and Eddy & Bri necklace. Something super simple
There you have it loves. Happy Fashion Week to my loves that are out & about for NYFW. Until next time loves.
Happy Sunday all. I hope you had/are having a good weekend. This week was my 1st time back to church in a while (dont judge me lol) I knew that I had to come stepping. I like to think I have a very southern mentality when it comes to getting dressed for church. I believe in coming in your best. So needless to say, I had to look my best this morning. It’s very basic, but basics are something that we all need to have.
The top I just got in the mail from Zelie for She a clothing line own by one of my fave and fierce bloggers Elann Zelie. It took the US postal service forever to get it to me. But I’m glad I finally have it. The skirt is a basic black skirt fro Fashion to Figure. My mother’s best friend bought and didn’t care for it, so she gave it to me. Paired it simple earrings & and a watch along with my favorite Dereon black pumps and I was ready to go.
Top: Zelie for She
Skirt: Fashion to Figure
Shoes: Dereon via Shoe Depo
Bag: thrift store
Until next time loves
I always enjoy when i see something in my closet, and I’m like what do I wear with this and then I see one of my favorite bloggers put together a look and I immediately figure what to do. As I was cruising the blog-o-sphere I saw that Finichia of Fancy Curves pulled off a fantastic printed skirt. Her skirt gave me so much life that I couldn’t wait to get up and put on my skirt. I think I pulled it off yes? no?
Top: Fashion to Figure
Skirt: Unique Thrift store
Bag: Call it Spring
Here’s what Finichia wore! Check out her blog
I finally found a reason to wear this wear this shirt. I was going to return it to FTF but just couldn’t make it up there. and im sure the time has lapsed, and I was kinda pissed cause I really wanted me money back lol but now I falling in love with it all over again!
The earrings were my moms. I raid her jewelry box not to long ago and found some fantastic pieces…I cant wait to show you all of them.
I remember when I bought this skirt, I just knew I had to have it. At first I wasn’t sure what to wear with it…but I think I’m on a good track. lol Until next time loves.
So as I got dressed in this outfit I realized that pretty much everything with the exception of my shoes and jewelry I purchased from Fashion to Figure. You guys know I live for that store lol. But when I saw this green top I just knew it had to be mine. I paired with with my simple black skirt my black sandals. I knew I was going and Curvy Girl outting after work so I wanted to be put together yet comfortable! Truth is I’m in love with this top…you will see it again!

until next time ladies!
So another trend that I’m excited to try is the very regal and chic Tulip Hem. I’m loving the look of the dresses and the skirts. for me much like the hi/low hems, it allows for the focus to be on yours legs. And is flattering for pretty much all body types because of the draping. So whether you’re wearing it with flats or you favorite pair of pumps, the look will definitely speak for itself. It’s great for the office for us trendy working girls, but can be flipped for a night on the town with the girls or with the boo!

So tell me what do you think about this trend?
