Holiday Sequins - A Thick Girl's Closet

Holiday Sequins

12:27 PM

Hey Loves,

I almost didn't want to write this post, but I couldn't resist. Sequins at holiday time is obviously nothing new, but every year around this time I like to see how brands plan to rework the ever popular usage of sequins. So with all that being said, I picked some of my favorite holiday sequin looks. See more below.

Tbags Los Angeles Asymmetric Stripe Dress from Bloomingdale's is just everything. I love this stripes in the front, and the solid color in the back. I think I need to make a pit stop at Bloomies to try this baby on.

JR Nites three-Quarter-Sleeve Sequin Fringe dress I think is an interesting twist on a fringe dress. I think it's super fun and so season perfect. My heart is fluttering for those fringes.
I would be remist if I didn't add Monif C. to this list. Her Pauletta sequin jumpsuit is unlike any other. Again I may have to make a pit stop by her boutique just so I can say I had this beauty on my body. It comes in both gold & black. Either way hun, you will shine.

One of my faves of the season is this Chloe bodycon dress from Mynt 1792. I had a chance to try on this dress at their Bloomingdale's in store launch. Absolutely adore it. The fit is not super tight (which is great) but youy may have to size down in this dress.

I mean really, who doesn't love a rainbow sequin skirt to turn up in?! This Asos Sequin skirt hits below the knew, but that depends on the curves of your body. But the goal here is for you to show up and show out.

This Ponte & Sequin Dress from Ashley Stewart is for the girl that is working on the way to shining. The sequins in the middle still give a pop, but the black tones it down and gives the body some shape. Super cute.

As the holidays are approaching I hope some of this options make you feel like more than the bell of the ball. And don't let folks tell you that we as plus size women can't wear sequins. So there you have it loves, until next time.

xoxo
Shay

  1. I *love* the Monif C in black! I just wish I could try it on but I'd have to buy it online. You must post pictures if you get the opportunity to try it out.
