Mom & Me| Mother’s Day with Lane Bryant

Lane Bryant Mother's Day

Hey Loves,

I think we all can agree that there are very few people in this world that know how to make you feel a range of emotions all in a span of .25 seconds. One of those people usually at the top of the list is OUR MOTHERS. With mother’s day on the way I was super excited to team up with Lane Bryant to take some pictures and spend some time with my mother. Mom and I have been avid Lane Bryant shoppers for years. What I love most is that she and I are 30+ years apart, but we still manage to find our own personal style in the same store.

Once upon a time, I use to dread shopping in the same store as my mother, but as I get older, I realize there is absolutely nothing wrong with shopping in the same store. For this post we teamed to bring some fun in florals for mother’s day. The one thing I try to keep in mind when shopping, is will my mother get more than one use out of the dress she has. My mother has always been a well put together woman, and is quite savvy at knowing how to get the most out of her clothing.

Mom’s Look

For this post my mother opted for this Lane Bryant High-Low Faux Wrap Fit & Flare Dress. It was super light, feminine, easy to wear, and it flowed so well as she walked. It fit her perfectly and as you can see, she was feeling herself. She twirled her heart away in that dress.

She bought 2 different pairs of pink shoes, just in case (like mother like daughter because do the same thing.) If you ever wonder wear I get my shoe game from….it’s her.

My Look

For my look I went with this Lane Bryant Off the Shoulder Sheath Dress. You all know I live for anything off the shoulder and form fitting. What I love about this dress is that even though it is form fitting, it’s not tight or uncomfortable. I was able to step into it, pull it up, throw on my shoes and I was ready to go. The off the shoulder portion was indeed off the shoulder, no fussing with it or needing to fix it while getting these pictures.

To keep with the spring vibes I was going for, I paired this dress with my new favorite white shoes from Shoedazzle. I wore these shoes while in Atlanta recently and I’ve won them with at least 6 other outfits. Shoedazzle never lets me down!

Getting these photos definitely wasn’t easy. It was chilly and it rained on and off all day. Since I had an awesome photographer, we worked through it and got some really fun shots. Enjoy some goofy photos of us. My mother and I are most certainly “a pair” There is never a dull moment. I am fully my mother’s child through and through. Any time we’re in front of the camera together, I promise it’ll be a good time.

Thank you to Myah Jones of MJones Imaging for capturing these photos IN THE RAIN!!! You’re the real MVP sis! See more post with me and my mother on the blog here.

Happy Mother’s day to all the mothers, grandmothers, stepmothers, foster mothers, church mothers, mentors and anyone who takes on the role of a mother. See you in my next post

xoxo

Shay

I am one of your number one fans! Love your videos! But in seeing how good your mom’s outfit looks, gave me an idea for you! I am 60 years old (5’10, sizes 3x-4x); perhaps you could “engage” your mom or someone else of a certain age to do a clothing haul, fashion tips, etc. for the mature woman? Maybe your mom can be persuaded to start such a blog or videos? Just a thought! ?
